This week, The Next Truth’s Maria Anna van Driel speaks with Dr. Seth Shostak, senior astronomer at the SETI Institute in Mountain View, California, and the director of the Institute’s Center for SETI Research about the secrets that exist in our Universe and the search for extraterrestrial intelligence.
Seth has an undergraduate degree in physics from Princeton University and a doctorate in astronomy from the California Institute of Technology. For much of his career, Seth conducted radio astronomy research on galaxies and has published approximately 60 papers in professional journals. During more than a decade, he worked at the Kapteyn Astronomical Institute in Groningen, The Netherlands, using the Westerbork Radio Synthesis Telescope. He also founded and ran a company producing computer animation for TV.
Seth has been a distinguished speaker for the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics. He was also chair of the International Academy of Astronautics’ SETI Permanent Committee for a decade.

Craig McMahon, filmmaker and director of the Amazon Prime documentary series “Life to Afterlife,” joins us to talk about the inspiring and insightful series. Craig has produced over 30 films in various genres in his career working with Lionsgate, Paramount, E One, and the Weinstein Company.
In 2014, Craig began to notice what he calls “the saturation of negative entertainment flooding television platforms.” By 2016, Craig fully shifted his production company to create content of an uplifting nature to an audience he felt was unserved. “People sometimes crave stories that make them feel good or feel inspired,” Craig said. Thus, Inspiriter Films was created in 2017.

Randy Holm is a reiki master, registered yoga teacher, and a licensed massage therapist. Randy started his journey in life as a submariner in the Navy and a radio officer in the Army National Guard and Army Reserve. After he retired as a reactor operator at a commercial nuclear power plant, he changed his life from working with machines to helping people by means of Reiki, yoga, and massage therapy. The coronavirus paused his work with the human touch, and he is now working on reaching out to others to help manage stress and anxiety with the human voice.
